A key requirement for the new ICS2 ENS filing is an EORI number – the Economic Operators Registration and Identification (EORI) number. An EORI number is a common number used in Customs-related activities throughout the EU. All Economic Operators (EO), including Freight Forwarders and NVOCCs engaged in Customs-related activities, are required to register with an EU Member State for an EORI number.
The EORI number must be entered when making Entry Summary Declarations (ENS) and other Customs-related activities. Carriers will have to provide the EORI number starting June 1, 2024 – that’s six months before ICS2 goes into full effect at the House Bill of Lading level. From December 1, 2024, either the Destination or the Origin Forwarder/NVOCC will also have to provide an EORI number.
Don’t wait until the last minute. Ensure your compliance with ICS2-ENS regulations by getting your EORI number today. Contact Trade Tech to simplify your Customs process and avoid unnecessary delays and costs.
