Introduction

Trade Security is the Syrinx module which simplifies compliance with Customs regulations, connects with Customs agencies globally, and handles various types of filings like AMS and ISF, ensuring accurate and efficient data processing. It provides multiple data input options, global connectivity for seamless operations, enhanced visibility, and accurate Customs filings, simplifying the entire filing process. Because Trade Security is so powerful and self-contained, it is the only standalone module in the Syrinx platform suite.

Today Syrinx Trade Security is integrated with Customs Authorities in the USA, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Africa and of course the 27 countries of the European Union.

We are in the process of integrating with United Kingdom Customs in 2024 and are currently in the planning stages for integrations with China, India, Brazil and Australia for launch in 2025.

Trade Security uniquely puts the user first by making filing simple and secure. No other system is designed for the user as Syrinx is.

Intuitive screen design makes it easy for operators to complete the mandatory fields.

If you complete a filing incompletely, Syrinx will highlight fields for correction and will not enable filing automation until the data is compliant.

For multi-destination/ transshipped or FROB shipments you can submit all filings with one data entry, eliminating multiple rekeying.

Non-compliance messages from Customs Authorities are immediately escalated to supervisors to ensure shipments move as booked.

Our expert regionally based customer service teams are available 24/7 in Asia, Europe and the Americas to ensure any issues are dealt with in your time.

Our filing transaction fees are very competitive. We file millions of shipments a year for thousands of companies. We are efficient.

Account set up

You can get up and running with Syrinx Trade Security in as little as a week, subject to your business profile via our Create Account page. This is how the process works.

Step 1- Complete our Customer Registration form with basic information about your company. We’ll send you an email to validate your address.

Step 2 – Select which filing products you are interested in and tell us roughly how many filings you make per year.

Step 3 – Tell us which Customs Authorities you are already registered with and advise your relevant Customs Registration Codes. For example, for US security filings you need a SCAC Code and an FMC Bond number.

  • If you are already registered with the Customs Authority that you want to submit filings to, then generally all that is required is to inform the Customs Authority that Trade Tech is your filing agent. You can have several filing agents so you don’t need to cancel your previous one.
  • If you are not registered with the target Customs Authority then we will assist you to complete the registration requirements.

Step 4 – You will then proceed to set up the details for your account. These include your company logo for your tailored user environment and details of the companies, branches and users who will access Syrinx Trade Security as well as your billing details.

Step 5 – Finally, you choose how you would like to send us data and how you would like to handle the filing process.

  • You can either send us the data from your TMS via EDI/XML, enter the data yourself in the Syrinx Trade Security user screens OR simply send us a copy of the HBL and we’ll do all the work
  • And you can choose whether to manage and monitor the filing process yourself, request Trade Tech to manage filing on your behalf OR select a partially managed solution where you manage the filing process but we continuously check your fiings to ensure that they are being done correctly.

There are 3 ways to do this.

  • The most effective way is via EDI/XML. Your shipments are transferred electronically to Syrinx and most of the filing data is automatically populated so no mistakes. You just need to complete a couple of fields and job done.That’s the most cost effective option.
  • Alternatively, you can fill complete the fields manually on a case by case basis. There are therefore no integration fees and you can be up and running immediately.
  • Finally you can simply send us the HBL and we will do all the data entry for you. That “full service” option is more expensive but totally reliable.
